The Battle of Algiers (1965)
If you’ve never seen this movie, it’s a revelation (albeit a depressing one, given the current state of the world); without really ‘choosing sides’ the filmmakers basically show all sides in what’s effectively a ‘war on terror’ as we understand it today, complete with (Islamic) suicide bombers (some of them women, all of them desperate for reasons that are and are not completely understandable) and occupied forces who are by turns arrogant, well-intentioned and corrupt.
