Smart people (including me) ask you to read the best books ever. Elizabeth Gumport is particularly wise: “Sometimes books enter your life at exactly the right moment. It doesn’t happen as often as you’d think: like people, they tend to appear too early, when you are too foolish to appreciate them, or too late, when they have been claimed by someone else.”
